The Apple iPad Air 11-inch has dropped to an all-time low at Argos

Price drops on Apple tablets rarely stick around for long, and Argos has just applied one of the biggest we’ve seen on the 512GB 11-inch iPad Air.

The 512GB version of the 11-inch iPad Air is now down to £719.20 at Argos from its usual £849 RRP, a saving of £129.80 on a tablet our review called a “great all-round performer”.

Our expert reviewer Max Parker tested this exact chip and came away surprised at how close its performance sits to the flagship iPad Pro, thanks to an 8-core CPU, a 9-core GPU and a 16-core neural engine built for Apple Intelligence tasks.

That kind of power matters more once you factor in the choice between an 11-inch model for commuting and browsing or a 13-inch alternative for anyone hoping to use the iPad Air as a genuine laptop replacement.

Both sizes share the same Liquid Retina display with P3 wide colour and True Tone, along with a 12MP Centre Stage front camera that makes video calls noticeably steadier when the iPad shifts to follow your movement around a room.

It also works with the Apple Pencil Pro, the Magic Keyboard and Smart Folio, so anyone who wants to switch between casual browsing and proper note-taking or document work can do that without swapping to another device.

All that hardware is backed by iPadOS features like Stage Manager for resizable, overlapping windows and Apple Intelligence tools that help with writing and editing photos, plus all-day battery life for anyone working away from a plug for hours at a time.

One thing worth flagging is that Argos supplies this iPad Air without a charging adaptor in the box, so you’ll need your own USB-C plug rated between 15W and 45W, though the tablet does support PD fast charging if you already own a suitable one.

That’s a minor inconvenience next to what you get, and in Parker’s own words this remains a great all-round iPad, easier to justify at £719.20 than at its usual £849 for anyone wanting Apple Intelligence and years of fast performance without paying Pro prices.
